Dr Joe Lim
Dr Joe Lim graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Otago in 2015. After four years practising dentistry in New Zealand, he moved to Melbourne in 2020. Having grown up in a multicultural country, he is fluent in both English and Mandarin Chinese.
Joe believes that visiting the dentist doesn’t have to be a scary experience. He strives to provide comprehensive dental care in a safe, pleasant and comfortable environment. His gentle and reassuring manner is his greatest asset in making this happen. Joe has a passion and particular interest in restorative dentistry, to repair damaged or worn teeth allowing their natural structure and function to return.
As a lifelong learner, Joe is currently aiming to complete a Certificate in Implant Dentistry from ITI (International Team of Implantology) and the University of Melbourne School of Dentistry.
Away from the dental chair, Joe relaxes by playing the violin (he holds an Associate Diploma in classical violin performance from Trinity College London!) He also enjoys long walks with his wife Ashley and their young spoodle dog. You may also hear him cheering on the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA basketball competition.
Dr Jamie Kang
Born and raised in Melbourne, Dr Jamie Kang undertook the Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Monash University as part of the Scholar’s Program. In 2018, he completed the Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Melbourne.
During his dental studies, Jamie travelled to Kampong Speu in Cambodia, where a team of dentists and dental students volunteered to provide dental care to people in remote communities. This project was close to Jamie’s heart because both of his parents migrated to Australia from Cambodia.
Jamie is exceptionally skilled in working with anxious patients to help them overcome their fear. Jamie’s gentle manner makes it easy for his patients to feel as comfortable as possible.
He enjoys practising all areas of dentistry, with a particular interest in root canal therapy and cosmetic dentistry. Jamie is a keen participant in regular professional development courses so he can keep up with the latest research and technology in evolving dental fields.
Outside of dentistry, Jamie spends his time reading epic fantasies and spends time with his friends playing games. He also enjoys spending time with his wife, going to the gym and watching reality TV shows. Any other downtime Jamie has, he spends watching anime and dreaming about going back to Japan.
Dr Jessica Lu
Dr Jessica Lu graduated with a Bachelor of Biomedicine in 2014 and Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2018. She completed both degrees at the University of Melbourne.
Jessica was one of the top achievers from her dental studies cohort, receiving many awards, including Dean’s Honours List, the Mervyn Townsend Memorial Prize, & the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons Academic Prize.
Jessica also travelled to Kampong Speu in Cambodia as a dental student, volunteering to provide dental treatment and education to rural residents. She also helped to provide oral health education to children during the Teddy Bear Hospital Winter Drive at Chadstone Shopping Centre.
Jessica believes in minimally invasive and preventative dentistry. She educates her patients to equip them with skills to maintain healthy teeth. She enjoys helping people feel confident and comfortable with their smile. Jessica practices all areas of general dentistry and regularly attends courses to keep up to date with the latest research, methods and technology.
Away from the practice, Jessica enjoys keeping fit at the gym, catching up with friends over good food and baking a sweet creation (in moderation, of course!)
